Caitlin Clark’s sophomore WNBA season with the Indiana Fever was cut short by injury after just 13 games.
Clark took part in a surprise appearance with some of her Fever teammates on Monday.
Only Clark, Boston, and Timpson are under contract with the Fever for the 2026 season.
After an unprecedented rookie year in the WNBA, Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark came crashing back down to earth in her sophomore season. It wasn’t because of poor performance, though — the Iowa Hawkeyes icon averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.2 triples per game, en route to being named an All-Star for a second straight season. Rather, it was multiple injuries that got in the way of Clark taking the league by storm again in her second year.
The 6-foot guard was limited to just 13 games in 2025. It was a right groin strain that ultimately led the Fever to decide the best course of action was to shut Clark down for the remainder of the season.

Clark is expected to be fully healthy to start the 2026 campaign. For now, she is busy rehabbing her injury to be ready for her comeback when the new WNBA season starts in May.
Apart from her road to recovery, Clark is also preoccupied with her off-court commitments during the offseason. This includes her responsibilities with the team, including some of the Fever’s corporate partnerships.
On Monday, Clark, along with teammates Kelsey Mitchell and Aari McDonald, took part in a “surprise” talk for Indianapolis-based pharmaceutical brand Eli Lilly and Company. The Fever took to social media to share their cornerstone superstar’s latest move off the court.

“Today, Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aari McDonald visited @elilillyco for a surprise spotlight conversation with employees about teamwork, resiliency and pushing through challenges this season 🎤🏀” the team posted on Instagram.
Based on the post, Clark and her teammates participated in a forum discussion in front of the Eli Lilly and Company employees. It was a motivational speaking engagement for Clark, who shared her own experience of persevering through adversity.

Clark remains under contract with the Fever through 2027 after having signed a four-year, $338,056 rookie deal in 2024. However, it’s only Clark, Aliyah Boston and rookie Makayla Timpson who are locked in for the 2026 season. The rest of the players on the roster, including Mitchell, will become unrestricted free agents once the window officially opens on Feb. 1.
