WNBA star Sophie Cunningham is tossing in her thoughts about players receiving money to fix games. The Indiana Fever free agent addressed the issue on Friday via a TikTok video. In the clip, Cunningham danced to Ariana Grande’s “Break Free.”

While singing a few lines of the hit song, Cunningham gave the middle finger as an answer if somebody asks her to rig games.

Fans promptly reacted to the viral clip:

“That is the biggest middle finger. I mean really, it is the biggest middle finger.”

@HullTiktok that is the biggest middle finger. I mean really it is the biggest middle finger🤣

One fan said:

@HullTiktok Sophie is a woman of integrity who would never fix games. Now the league and the refs who are rotten to the core, I definitely think they would fix games.

Another fan added:

@HullTiktok Yea but someone is doing it! Just look who’s at the FT line all the time. Investigate the REF’S financial papers. Follow the money!

One more fan continued:

@HullTiktok Love this woman so much

Another fan reacted:

@HullTiktok Sophie Cunningham is an absolute treasure. Such a vivacious personality with so much positive energy and a great sense of humor.

Two weeks ago, the DOJ filed a case against multiple individuals involved in “illegal sports betting and money laundering conspiracy.” Among the defendants were Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and former NBA player Damon Jones.

FBI Director Kash Patel held a press conference to release a statement following the crackdown, prompting ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith to comment. Smith said that the arrests were only the beginning and that the WNBA was next on the list.

This early, Sophie Cunningham is saying she has never been involved in such criminal activities. If approached to rig games, she emphatically gave her answer.

Sophie Cunningham is open to playing anywhere for a bigger contract

Sophie Cunningham signed a one-year, $100,000 contract with the Phoenix Mercury before she was traded to the Indiana Fever in a four-team deal. In a few months, she became a social media sensation and easily one of the Fever fan favorites. Cunningham is arguably the second-biggest draw for the team after Caitlin Clark.

Cunningham became an unrestricted free agent after the Fever’s season ended. She is well aware of her value, which is why the Fever have to spend big to keep her. In last week’s episode of her “Show Me Something” podcast, Cunningham opened up about what she is looking for in her next contract:

“The next team I play for, I want a bigger contract, so then I can buy a house and be cozy.”

When pressed by co-host West Wilson if it could be in New York, where she could play for the Liberty, or in Minnesota, for the Lynx, Cunningham answered:

“It could be anywhere.”

The Fever’s top priority is re-signing MVP finalist Kelsey Mitchell. With almost every WNBA player in non-rookie contracts becoming unrestricted free agents, the Fever could retool the roster. Sophie Cunningham wants to return to Indiana, but not for a below-market deal.
