The second College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday night and IU football remained No. 2.
This week’s top 25: 1. Ohio State; 2. Indiana; 3. Texas A&M; 4. Alabama; 5. Georgia; 6. Texas Tech; 7. Ole Miss; 8. Oregon; 9. Notre Dame; 10. Texas; 11. Oklahoma; 12. BYU; 13. Utah; 14. Vanderbilt; 15. Miami (FL); 16. Georgia Tech; 17. USC; 18. Michigan; 19. Virginia; 20. Louisville; 21. Iowa; 22. Pittsburgh; 23. Tennessee; 24. South Florida; 25. Cincinnati
The 12-team playoff will be finalized on Sunday, December 7, following conference championship weekend.
The rankings offer a snapshot of how the committee currently evaluates each team through 11 weeks of the regular season.
The CFP selection committee ranks its top 25 teams and at the conclusion of the regular season, the five highest-ranked conference champions and the next seven highest-ranked teams will be seeded into a 12-team bracket.
The four highest-seeded teams will receive a first-round bye.
The CFP first round matchups will feature four games between teams seeded No. 5 through No. 12. The higher-seeded team in each matchup will host.
Last season, Curt Cignetti’s first in Bloomington, IU football was the No. 10 seed and played at No. 7 Notre Dame. The Hoosiers lost 27-17 to the Fighting Irish, the eventual national runner-up to Ohio State.

Indiana, 10-0 overall, is 7-0 in conference play with home wins against Illinois, Michigan State and UCLA and road wins at Iowa, Oregon, Maryland and Penn State.
The Hoosiers will host Wisconsin this Saturday at Memorial Stadium. BTN will have coverage beginning at 12 p.m. ET.
