Mike Tyson makes his feelings clear on whether Tyson Fury should stay retired or make a comeback

Tyson Fury continues to flirt with a comeback to boxing and now heavyweight legend Mike Tyson has offered his verdict on whether ‘The Gypsy King’ should return.

Fury hung up the gloves after consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, first losing his WBC heavyweight title to the Ukrainian and then failing to regain it in the rematch.

Yet, a long-awaited clash with fellow Briton Anthony Joshua remains one of the most talked about matchups in the sport, despite Fury’s retirement, and British fight fans maintain hope that the two former world champions could soon meet.

Heavyweight legend Mike Tyson has now offered some advice to Fury, as in an interview with Hard Rock, ‘Iron Mike’ encouraged the former champion to fight ‘until he can’t’ and told him to come back now rather than waiting until it’s too late.

“Look, take a couple of months off and come back. You’re going to want to come back when you’re 40-something, so start doing it now.

“I said, ‘man, I wish I didn’t quit’. So, you just keep training right now and keep fighting because you’re going to want to do it when you’re 40.

“If you quit now, when you’re 40, you’re going to say, ‘wow, I wish I could [still fight], I wish I didn’t stop fighting’. Keep fighting until you can’t fight anymore.

“That’s what I do. Keep fighting until you can’t. I want to keep fighting until I can’t breathe anymore. Keep fighting. Knock me out, f*** it.”

Whilst Fury’s future is up in the air, ‘AJ’ could be set to end a 14-month hiatus and fight before the end of the year, after being linked to an appearance on the Craig Richards vs. Dan Azeez undercard; which takes place in Ghana on Saturday, December 20.
