The Los Angeles Dodgers began their business this offseason on Wednesday, bringing back utility infielder Miguel Rojas on a one-year, $5.5 million deal, but their job is far from done this winter.
The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya and Katie Woo report the Dodgers are still looking to address their bullpen this offseason, and are looking towards short-term contracts while still trying to remain in contention for top names.

“With the Winter Meetings set to begin next week in Orlando, the Dodgers’ work is far from done,” Ardaya and Woo wrote. “Addressing the bullpen is a top priority. The Dodgers are firmly in the mix on that front this winter, as always. But their relief pursuits, as of now, are trying to thread a tight needle. They want to be engaged on several of the top relievers available on the market, league sources said, but have tried to stick to shorter-term frameworks.”
The Dodgers have so far been unsuccessful in their search, with three of their potential relief options already choosing to play elsewhere.

Raisel Iglesias made a quick decision to return to the Atlanta Braves on a one-year deal despite the Dodgers’ interest, Ryan Helsley, a trade target at the deadline for the Dodgers, joined the Baltimore Orioles on a two-year deal and — most recently — Devin Williams signed a three-year, $51 million deal with the New York Mets after a disappointing season with the Yankees.

The Dodgers still have plenty of options in free agency, though, and will surely be more aggressive in pursuing a reliever after their struggles. Highly sought-after closers such as Edwin Diaz, Robert Suarez and Pete Fairbanks are still on the market, and all three would provide a sure upgrade to a Dodgers bullpen which had its struggles towards the end of the season.
