Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) has marked Safer Internet Day with a donation of over £1000 for Scottish Charity, Action Against Stalking (AAS).

The day raises awareness of online safety for young people, including the importance of understanding of consent and privacy for young women.

The funds were raised by members and supporters at a raffle at the Scottish Women’s Football Awards gala dinner at the end of 2025, which coincided with the UN’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence.

Commenting, SWF’s CEO Aileen Campbell said:

“All our young players express themselves online, and they have a right to do so safely and free from harassment.

“We were delighted to use our Awards Dinner to raise money for this important charity.  The fact our dinner landed within the 16 Days of Activism meant it felt important that we do what we can, using the platform or our Awards, to challenge gender-based violence by raising awareness of a charity that does a lot to support women and girls.

“Football is a powerful force for good and SWF works hard to do what it can to make our sport safe for girls and women.  Therefore, it’s important we act in solidarity with other groups to raise awareness and in this case, some funding, to support the good work of others.  We thank everyone at our Awards night who dug deep to support AAS.”

Action Against Stalking’s CEO, Hayley Tennant said:

“We were so pleased that SWF chose us as their charity partner for their awards dinner, the awareness and funds raised means a great deal to us and will make a difference to our charity.

“This support helps us continue our work supporting people affected by stalking and raising awareness that it’s never harmless or romantic. The fact that SWF who organise grassroots leagues and competitions are keen to promote safety on and off the pitch for girls and women, meant that our values aligned and we look forward to hopefully working with them in the future.”
