A’ja Wilson’s legendary stint in Las Vegas has granted her the ability to choose any franchise she believes provides her the greatest opportunity for success—that would certainly be the case in Dallas.
A Wilson-Bueckers duo would devastate the league
Despite going 10-34 during the 2025 season, the Dallas Wings are a sleeping giant of a franchise. For the second consecutive year, Dallas will have the opportunity to select first in the WNBA draft. In 2025, the acquisition of Paige Bueckers was a no-brainer. A generational talent who was coming off the back of a National Championship with the UConn Huskies, how could that be refused?
Many believe that the Spanish sensation Awa Fam would be the perfect addition in Dallas, and the perfect player to complement Bueckers’ playing style. Fam’s performances in Valencia have shown that she is a ready-made pick-and-roll dance partner for the UConn graduate, and her potential as an interior scorer is immense.
Every selection is a gamble. A’ja Wilson is arguably the greatest player to ever grace a basketball court, so why not reduce the risk factor in exchange for guaranteed superiority? The 29-year-old stuffs the stats sheet in every column and will garner the attention of every defender, providing Bueckers with the room to conduct the offense as she sees fit.
During the 2025 campaign, Wilson dragged the Aces through rough waters to lift the championship trophy. The South Carolina legend averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks, while shooting 50.5% from the floor.

Not only would the fanfare around this partnership be incredible, but the Dallas Wings would become an instant contender to win the championship. During such a turbulent period in the WNBA, why not add a little bit of spice?
