The Las Vegas Aces have made several moves in recent days to tinker with their roster ahead of the upcoming 2025 WNBA season. Head coach Becky Hammon, who’s been with the team since 2021 and was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame for her contributions to the sport both as a player and coach, has even been a speculative name to replace San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich as his health struggles have continued.
In the meantime, Hammon is improving her Aces as it was reported Las Vegas signed forward Jordyn Jenkins out of the University of Texas at San Antonio to a training camp contract.
In January, Jenkins impressed Hammon as UTSA beat Wichita State 69-51. The rookie scored 21 points in that game, leading her team to victory.

Jenkins joins Deja Kelly, who signed a rookie-scale contract on Friday. Last week, the Aces also drafted Aaliyah Nye out of the University of Alabama with the No. 13 overall pick in the WNBA Draft. They also added Harmoni Turner of Harvard at No. 35 overall.
Last season, Jenkins averaged 18.7 points, 6.9 rebounds. 1.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. In the 2022-23 season, she was the Conference USA Player of the Year, C-USA Newcomer of the Year and First-Team All-Conference. Jenkins transferred to UTSA after two seasons with the USC Trojans.

The Aces did not have a first-round pick in this draft due to league rules violations regarding impermissible player benefits and workplace policies.

Hammon, a two-time WNBA champion as head coach, was also a six-time WNBA All-Star and twice a member of the All-WNBA First Team. Under her leadership, the Aces won two straight WNBA titles in 2022 and 2023.
Hammon’s accolades aren’t limited as a coach as she was one of the greats during her tenure as a player and is among the all-time WNBA leaders in several categories. She is fourth all-time in three-pointers (829) and three-point attempts (2,191). She also ranked sixth in assists (1,708) and third in free throw percentage (0.897).
