Nearly a month ago Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark shocked the basketball world when a new photo of her hit social media.
While attending a Big Ten battle between her former program Iowa take on Ohio State, the record-setting Hawkeye caught the attention of fans who noticed Clark put a little extra muscle on. New Fever head coach Stephanie White warned the rest of the league this would be happening in a February 18 podcast episode with Richard Deitsch.

“She is stronger, first and foremost. She figured out right away that I need to get stronger… She’s done a great job of getting in the weight room and focusing on her strength, in terms of low center of gravity, time under tension, all of those things,” White said at the time.
Just a few weeks later is when fans learned first hand exactly what she was talking about. “Well someone’s been in the weight room,” photographer Bri Lewerke said of Clark when spotted at the game.
A full month after the photo initially went viral, Clark is finally addressing the elephant – or bicep – in the room.

“It was the camera angle!” Clark joked during an appearance on the show of WNBA legends Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi. “AI is getting out of control, c’mon.”
She eventually revealed, “I’m trying to get stronger, like a lot of time in the weight room. It’s something I kind of enjoy, so it’s pretty easy for me to spend time in there and really work on that part of my game.”
In addition to getting stronger this offseason, Clark revealed she’s attempting to add a floater and being better at finishing through contact – which the added muscle should help with.
