Manchester United Starting Lineup
Today’s Premier League tie against Aston Villa sees Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag make some bold decisions in his starting lineup.
Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez, the usual first-choice centre backs, have been dropped in favor of Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans.
In midfield, Kobbie Mainoo returns after missing the previous match due to injury, partnering Christian Eriksen.
New signing Manuel Ugarte remains on the bench, while Casemiro loses his place after a disappointing performance against FC Porto.
Up front, Rasmus Hojlund gets the nod over Josh Zirkzee, who also starts on the bench.
Amad Diallo misses out on the starting lineup, with Alejandro Garnacho taking his place on the right wing.
Bruno Fernandes is back in the number 10 role after his suspension was rescinded, and Marcus Rashford starts on the left wing.
The full bench includes Altay Bayindir, De Ligt, Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, Ugarte, Amad, Antony, and Zirkzee.
Concerns arise as only one of Ten Hag’s £200 million worth of new signings has secured a spot in the starting lineup so far this season, raising questions from United’s new part-owners, Ineos.
Kick-off at Villa Park is scheduled for 2pm.
