Despite losing to the Connecticut Sun 88-69 on Friday, Phoenix Mercury icons Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner reflected on how special the 2014 championship team was, how they evolved individually from then to now, wanting to win again but understanding how tough it is to do so and recognizing the journey to get there, where the WNBA is at today from where it was in the past and more after the Mercury celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the franchise’s last championship with a reunion of almost every player and staff.

The likes of New York Liberty Sandy Brondello, Sun star DeWanna Bonner, Mercury legend Penny Taylor and more were recognized for the contributions they made to the team alongside Taurasi and Griner.
Phoenix was 29-5, went 7-1 in the playoffs and beat the Indiana Fever in a three-game series 2-1 to win the 2014 title.
