East Fife have reclaimed the top spot in the Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship after a 4-1 victory over Stirling University.
Stirling, who began the day at the top of the league, struggled against an East Fife team that moved the ball quickly and strategically in front of a large crowd at the University ground. Teri Skivington scored twice in the second half, adding to goals from Bennett Luna and Harriet Anderson in the first half.
In the early game, Inverness Caledonian Thistle dominated with a 15-0 win over Hutchison Vale at home, with Julia Scott scoring six goals, a hat trick from Kirsty Deans, doubles from Hannah Gordon and Natalie Bodiam, and goals from Alex Whelan and Charlotte Simpson.
Holly McIndoe, Aimee Dilworth, and Caitlin McKee found the back of the net for Glasgow Girls and Women in a 3-0 win against Morton, while Renfrew defeated Forfar Farmington 4-1 and Dryburgh Athletic secured a 2-1 victory over Westdyke with a stunning strike from Aoife Gauld.
The Falkirk derby ended in a 1-1 draw at the Falkirk stadium.
In the Barclays Scottish Women’s League One, St Mirren came from behind to maintain their top spot with a 3-1 win over Airdrie Ladies. Armadale Thistle won 4-1 at Queen of the South, Bonnyrigg Rose claimed a 1-0 victory at Kilwinning, and Inverurie scored seven past Dundee West. Giffnock lost 4-1 to Dunipace.
Cambusdoon advanced to the quarter finals of the ScottishPower Regional League Cup after a dramatic comeback against Dunfermline Athletic, winning on penalties. Edinburgh University Thistle also came from behind to defeat Bishopton 8-7.
Both teams join Elgin City, Stewarton Annick, Edinburgh South, Ross County, and Cumbernauld Colts in the quarter-finals of the cup, while the match between Glenrothes Strollers and Cumnock Juniors was abandoned at half time.
In the ScottishPower Regional League Plate, Gleniffer Thistle beat Harmony Row 2-1, Penicuik Athletic won 3-0 against East Fife Development, and Grampian Ladies recorded a 12-0 victory over Gretna. Cumbernauld United, Westdyke Thistle, and Linlithgow Rose also advanced to the quarter-finals.
