Online Hub on Amazon.sa and Amazon.ae will deliver Live Esports broadcasts via Amazon Ads integration of Twitch streams in KSA and big discounts and deals to customers
The Esports World Cup Foundation (“EWCF”) and Amazon have announced a new collaboration for the Esports World Cup (“EWC”), the world’s largest gaming festival set to take place this summer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As the Official ecommerce partner of the EWC, Amazon will launch the Esports World Cup Hub, a dedicated online space enabling gaming enthusiasts across the Middle East and North Africa (“MENA”) to follow all the EWC action live via amazon.sa and amazon.ae landing pages.
Amazon’s hub will host the official EWC Twitch stream for audiences to tune into their favorite competitive esports throughout the full EWC from 03 July – 25 August 2024. In celebration of the EWC, Amazon has provided esports fans in the MENA region with more ways to connect with their favorite athletes and clubs. EWC fans who purchase select admission tickets to the Esports World Cup will receive an Amazon discount coupon with their purchase to enjoy additional discounts when shopping for gaming devices and accessories on amazon.sa. The partnership will bring the EWC experience closer to local gaming fans and new-to-gaming audiences by integrating online retail and live streaming in one central hub on amazon.sa and amazon.ae.
“Partnering with Amazon is a significant milestone for the Esports World Cup,” said Mohammed Al Nimer, Sales Director, Esports World Cup Foundation. “Together, we are crafting an unparalleled experience for gaming fans, merging the excitement of live esports with the ease of online shopping. Like the EWCF, Amazon understands the value of esports as next-generation entertainment for audiences in the MENA region and beyond. I’m pleased that local gamers will have a dedicated online space to connect with the Esports World Cup and watch this historic event unfold in Riyadh.”
Commenting on the partnership, Abdo Chlala, Country Manager, Amazon Saudi Arabia, said: “We are proud to be partnering with EWCF as the Main Partner and Official ecommerce Partner for the Esports World Cup, bringing customers across the region an exceptional combined gaming and online shopping experience. As part of this collaboration, we are making this accessible to all customers via amazon.sa and amazon.ae so they can enjoy watching their favorite athletes in the Esports World Cup, all while shopping the best deals from their favorite renowned consumer electronics, gaming accessories, and video game brands.”
Starting July 1, Alexa customers in Saudi Arabia can enjoy fun experiences and quizzes and get the latest EWC updates by asking “Alexa, start Esports World Cup.” Fans across Saudi Arabia, UAE and Egypt will also gain access to exclusive gaming deals on amazon.sa, amazon.ae, and amazon.eg from July 3 – October 31.
Beyond the regional collaboration, Amazon Ads cemented a partnership with EWCF to maximize engagement and viewership among Esport fans across the United States and Europe. Commenting on this, Rayan Karaky, Managing Director, EMEA & South East Asia at Amazon Ads said: “Creating an exceptional experience which allows followers of the world of Esports to enjoy and engage with this landmark event is an exciting project. EWC trusted Amazon Ads to provide an international strategy connecting fans through Twitch, streaming TV, audio ads and custom solutions, making for eight weeks of unmissable Esports action.”
With its kickoff having occurred on July 3, the Esports World Cup will transform Riyadh into the epicenter of esports fandom and gaming culture. Located in Boulevard City, fans can watch their favorite athletes and clubs compete across 22 game championships for a share of more than $60 million in life-changing prize money — the largest prize pool in esports history. Across eight weeks, the Esports World Cup will also feature festival activities that include numerous gaming activations, community tournaments, pop culture celebrations, international experiences, and more.
