With Euro 2025 just over 24 hours away, UEFA has revealed that over 600,000 tickets have been sold for the tournament – marking a new record for the competition.
As women’s football continues to grow in popularity, it is no surprise to see attendance and ticket sale records broken year on year.
Euro 2025 sets new ticket sale record
Ahead of Euro 2025 this year, it has been confirmed that ticket sales have officially reached the 600,000 mark.
UEFA set a target of 600,000 tickets to be sold at this summer’s tournament with 700,000 made available to fans, although many people believed this number to be too high a target.
“One of our key goals was to sell out the event. I remember how people laughed when we set this goal, but it’s now turning into a reality,” said UEFA director for women’s football, Nadine Kessler.
“We set this goal because, for us, it’s the most genuine sign of growth, and of sustainable development. Already, 22 matches (out of 31) are sold out, and 600,000 tickets overall – and that’s without an opening match at Old Trafford or a final at Wembley.”
With 600,000 tickets sold already, Euro 2025 has broken the ticketing record set at any women’s European Championship which was previously held by Euro 2022 in England.

The sales look all the more impressive when taking into consideration this year’s venues, as the largest ground being played at in Switzerland has a capacity of just 34,250 – which is nothing compared to the likes of Wembley and Old Trafford in 2022.
“I think we are at 114 nationalities and that’s exactly what we want – that’s unheard of in women’s football – and it shows we have taken the right lessons from England 2022 and are on the way to a record-breaking event,” said Kessler.
UEFA also revealed that of all the tickets sold, 35% were bought by international customers as women’s football continues to grow exponentially across the globe.
Although the tournament has already broken ticket sale records before a ball is even kicked, it is impossible for any game at Euro 2025 to break the women’s attendance record which was set in 2022 at the Euros final between England and Germany.
