Falkirk and Queen of the South remain on top of the Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship and League One after a Sunday of nail-biting action in the Scottish Women’s Football national leagues.

Victory by a single goal over Morton was enough to keep Falkirk’s record intact, while Renfrew edged a seven-goal thriller 4-3 against Bonnyrigg Rose to move into second. Rossvale moved up to third with a 2-1 victory over Ayr United, thanks to a late winner from long range by Sarah Petherick.

Forfar Farmington are in fifth place in the table after winning 8-0 against Glasgow Girls, and Inverness Caledonian Thistle came from behind to draw 4-4 with Dryburgh Athletic in another thriller. Stenhousemuir are up to seventh after beating Armadale Thistle at Ochilview.

In Barclays Scottish Women’s League One, the battle of the top two ended in a 3-3 stalemate which keeps Queen of the South’s unbeaten run intact but meant Dunipace dropped to third as Elgin City put 16 past bottom side Hutchison Vale with no reply.

Inverurie Loco Works remain fourth after beating Edinburgh Caledonia 2-1 at home.

The League’s first ever Fife derby between Glenrothes Strollers and Dunfermline Athletic produced an entertaining one each draw, with both goals coming in a tense first half, while St Mirren came back to win 2-1 over Cambusdoon to lift them above the visitors into fifth place in the table. Airdrie’s Suzanne McTaggart grabbed the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Aberdeenshire side Westdyke.
