With the 2025 WNBA regular season right around the corner, fans are fired up and ready for what’s shaping up to be an exciting year. The buzz is real, social media is lighting up with predictions, rankings and plenty of hot takes.

Whether it’s debating MVP favorites or breakout stars, people are weighing in from all corners of the basketball world.

And while Caitlin Clark continues to grab most of the headlines—and understandably so—there’s another storyline starting to gain some traction. A growing number of fans are looking past the obvious and throwing their support behind another Indiana Fever player who might just snag a big award when the season wraps up.

It all started with a simple but bold question that made the rounds online.

“TRUE OR FALSE: Lexie Hull will win the WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year award,” I talk hoops X account asked.

Fan reactions came in quickly and confidently:

“True.” mentioned Ferdinand.

This fan mentioned a co-winner: “Tie with Sophia The Blonde Squad.”

Jac had this to say: “Of course she will. Let’s be clear it’s LEXI HUSTLE.”

“Certainly in conversation…..:” this fan brought up a good point.

“She should start. If she doesn’t, it’s a guarantee she will win it.” said PinkPuma.

BuffFrog said: “Unless she becomes a starter.”

Clearly, Hull has built a strong following, and many believe she’s poised for a breakout year.

Hull, 25, hails from Liberty Lake, Washington. A standout at Stanford, she was selected sixth overall in the 2022 WNBA Draft and has spent her entire pro career with the Indiana Fever.

So far in the pre-season, Hull has scored 13, 9 and 14 off the bench. In the most recent game at Atlanta, she recorded five rebounds in 23 minutes of action.

Last season, Hull played in all 34 games, starting 11 of them. She averaged 5.5 points and 19.7 minutes per game. Across her three-year WNBA career, she has appeared in 90 games, starting 40.

The Indiana Fever open their 2025 season at home on Saturday, hosting Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. All eyes will be on Caitlin Clark, but don’t be surprised if Hull makes headlines of her own early in the season.
