FIA Partnership with Holmatro Showcases Effective Collaboration in Motor Sport Safety

Since 2019, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has formally partnered with Holmatro, a Dutch manufacturer of high-performance hydraulic rescue tools who have provided the FIA with advanced safety equipment to support the response to on-track incidents. The partnership reflects the FIA’s sustained commitment to improving safety across all levels of motor sport and demonstrates the significant value of strategic collaboration with industry leaders.

Holmatro serves as the Official Supplier of Motor Sport Rescue Tools to the FIA, providing equipment that plays a critical role in the federation’s safety and medical operations. Holmatro’s cordless hydraulic tools are part of the FIA Formula 1 Medical Car, enabling rapid and effective extrication of drivers during serious on-track incidents. In high-pressure scenarios where response time is crucial, the reliability and efficiency of Holmatro’s equipment are essential.

The partnership also delivers broader benefits beyond immediate trackside response. Holmatro’s equipment is regularly used in training exercises, where medical and rescue personnel are taught how to safely and efficiently carry out driver extrications. Through the FIA’s global network of National Sporting Authorities (ASNs), these tools are also deployed at national-level events, helping to ensure that consistent safety protocols and standards are maintained throughout the wider motor sport community.
