CLEVELAND, Tenn. – A familiar face will be on the bench for the Lee University women’s soccer team next fall as an assistant coach. A 2016 Lee graduate, Tom Halsall is returning to Cleveland as the women’s soccer assistant coach. Halsall as spent the last three years as the head coach at Bryan College.Â
He was a four year starting goalkeeper for Lee from 2012-2015. He graduated in 2016 with a degree in physical education. He was a member of the NCCAA National Champion team in  2014. He was a NCCAA First team all region member in 2013, a NCCAA First team All American 2014, and a First Team All-GSC member in 2015. After graduation he player for Chattanooga FC from 2014-2018.
In 2016-17 he had his first coaching job at Erskine College. From 2017-19 he was the men’s and women’s assistant coach at Shorter University while also a masters in business management. In 2019-20 he was the Director of Goalkeeping at Florida Elite Soccer Academy. He then had his first stint at Bryan in the fall of 2020. in 2021 and 2022, he was a graduate assistant at the University of North Alabama earning a master’s in kinesiology. In 2022 he returned to Bryan to be the women’s soccer head coach.Â
Head Coach Lee Hughes is excited to work with Halsall. “Excited for Tom to join our staff! I know he is excited he’s returning to Lee after a great playing career here! Our staff, team and goalkeepers will really benefit from having him here! Most of all we have added a great human to our team!”
Halsall resides in Athens, TN with his wife Arielle whom he met whilst coaching at Bryan back in 2019.Â
