New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu is set to compete in the 2025 WNBA 3-Point Contest during All-Star Weekend on Friday, she confirmed to Madeline Kenney of The New York Post.
Ionescu first sparked speculation with a subtle Instagram post featuring a photo of her and Stephen Curry from last year’s NBA All-Star 3-Point Contest — captioned only with several eyebrow emojis.
She will compete in her second WNBA 3-Point Contest, returning for the first time since her record-breaking performance in 2023 when she scored 37 points in the final round — the highest single-round total in both WNBA and NBA history.
In 2024, she went head-to-head with Curry at the NBA 3-Point Contest, narrowly falling 29-26 to the Golden State Warriors sharpshooter.
The guard is averaging 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.6 steals this season in her sixth year in the WNBA. While she’s shooting a career-low 32.4 percent from beyond the arc, she holds a career three-point percentage of 35.9.
Ionescu and Washington Mystics rookie Sonia Citron are the only confirmed participants in this year’s WNBA contest so far set to take place in Indiana.
