Liverpool forward Kiernan signs new deal

Liverpool forward Leanne Kiernan has signed a new contract with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds this morning.

The 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international attacker joined Liverpool in summer 2021 after leaving former club West Ham United. She helped the club win the Barclays WSL2 title in her first season on Merseyside while she has been a regular in the side in the campaigns that have followed. Kiernan has made more than 70 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions so far.

After opting to extend her contract with The Reds, Kiernan said “It feels amazing and I’m really excited to get going again.

“[My family are] delighted, honestly. It’s like a second home for them as well as me and they love it over here. I could actually see myself, after I finish my career, in Liverpool. I feel like they’re really enjoying coming over to see me.

“[The fans] have been unbelievable – really supportive throughout injuries, really supportive by sticking with us and I feel like they’ve been there for the good times and the bad. Hopefully, we’ll be able to celebrate with them a lot this year.”
