As a decorated collegiate player himself at Arkansas, Tim Siegel has always felt the call to coach since her early days in Fayetteville. After brief stints at him alma mater and SMU, Siegel was hired as the head men’s tennis coach at Texas Tech University in 1992 and held the position until 2015 when he retired from coaching.
Met with tragedy just 20 days after retirement, as his son Luke suffered head and chest trauma from a golf cart accident, resulting in an anoxic brain injury. Navigating many very difficult and emotional situations, Siegel has spent his time after coaching running Team Luke Hope for Minds, a non profit that supports children after brain injury in honor of his son. Siegel has worked with some of the biggest stars in the sports world to raise awareness and money for children through this non-profit and frequently meets with tennis programs across the country to share his story with these teams.
