Manchester United decided to loan Marcus Rashford out to fellow Premier League side Aston Villa during the January transfer window after the forward fell out with new head coach Ruben Amorim.

The Mancunian had been frozen out by the Portuguese and with INEOS keen to get his wages off the books, Villa finally stepped in to land the Englishman.

Birmingham was not where the 27-year-old wanted to land up at in January with the United No 10 keen on a dream switch to Barcelona.

However, the Catalan giants failed to make space for him and with time running out, the England international finally decided to move to Villa Park on deadline day.

Rashford has started well at Villa

He has started well at his new home and his free-kick allowed Unai Emery’s men to equalise against Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The Champions League side have an option to make the loan deal permanent next summer for £40 million. But Rashford has other plans.

As previously relayed by The Peoples Person, the versatile forward has already asked his agents to try and get him a move away from Villa once the season ends.

The Sun have claimed Rashford is still dreaming of moving to Barcelona and with a transfer price now established, all he needs to do is get his act together on the pitch.

He seems to be confident that as long as he can bag goals and assists from now until the end of the season, the Catalan giants will come in for him.

A source told the publication, “Marcus is confident that if he rediscovers his form at Villa Park and starts bagging goals, Barcelona will revive their interest, especially as a transfer price has been established.

“It’s a huge incentive for him, which is good news for Villa. Now he just needs to get playing and start scoring.”

Wants to leave for Barca in the summer

In his first interview to Villa media, Rashford had made it pretty clear that he was there at the club only for the short-term.

“Obviously it’s only short term that I’m here but I want to make the most of my time here. And the only way to do that is by using my attributes and skill sets to help the team,” the Carrington graduate had said.

It will be a win-win for United as they can earn a decent fee, all of which would constitute pure profit. However, Villa fans will not take too kindly to this news.

The club showed trust when plenty of others stayed away and with an option to buy, Emery would certainly like to keep a hold of him should he return to form.
