JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Atlantic Sun Conference has announced the 2025 Women’s Soccer Preseason Awards. North Florida’s redshirt junior Paige McSwigan and graduate student Sofia Miliancano were both selected to the Preseason All-ASUN Team, while Miliancano was also recognized as Preseason ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year.

After a season-ending injury in 2023, Sofia Miliancano bounced back in 2024 to start in all 19 matches played in with 1,626 minutes played in goal to earn All-ASUN Third Team. She logged the full 90 minutes in 17 of the 19 matches she played in. Miliancano notched a 9-4-6 record and totaled six clean sheets, two of which were in ASUN action, and recorded 53 saves with a .726 save percentage.

Miliancano notched a clean sheet in a win at Miami (Fla.) on Aug. 15 to help propel North Florida to its first-ever win against a Power Four opponent. She totaled a season-high eight saves against Lipscomb, one of three matches with five of more saves. Off the pitch, Miliancano was named to the 2024-25 ASUN Academic Honor Roll, her fourth consecutive selection.

“Sofia [Miliancano] has demonstrated that she is one of the top keepers in the ASUN,” head coach Eric Faulconer remarked. “Having a 5th year in goal with her experience gives the entire team confidence heading into every match. I know she is honored to be recognized before the 2025 campaign, but I am certain she is even more determined to be at the very top at the end of the season.”

Paige McSwigan boasted a strong 2024 campaign as she was named to the Second Team All-ASUN and United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Third Team for a second consecutive season. McSwigan appeared in all 20 matches with 16 starts and totaled a team-high in goals and points with seven goals, two of which were game winners. She added on an assist for 15 total points in addition to 25 shots and 11 shots on goal in 937 minutes played.

McSwigan secured her first collegiate brace, which included the eventual game-winning goal, at West Georgia on Sept. 26. She notched a game-winning free-kick goal against Mercer on Sept. 1. McSwigan was selected for her first cap to the Philippine Women’s National Team. Off the pitch, McSwigan was named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District Team, 2024 ASUN All-Academic Team and the 2024-25 ASUN Academic Honor Roll.

“Paige [McSwigan] has been an impact player in our program over the past two seasons,” Faulconer said. “Being both a two time All-Conference and all-region player, Paige has proven herself as one of the top players in the league.  We believe there is still more in her and we look forward to seeing Paige take her game to even higher levels this fall.”

The Ospreys were picked to finish fifth in the conference in the ASUN Preaseason Coaches Poll. Overall, North Florida received 98 points with Central Arkansas picked to finish fourth, Eastern Kentucky third, FGCU second and Lipscomb first with eight first place votes.

“Preseason predictions are typically a reflection of last year’s results. Last season, six points separated first from fifth, and we finished fourth,” said Faulconer. “We were one of three teams with only one loss in conference play. We have a great mix of experience and youth. I fully expected us to be right there in the end competing for the division and conference championship.”

North Florida is set to being its season on the road in Washinton, D.C., as they will face Howard on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m.
