Omar El Dafrawy has taken an unconventional path in mixed martial arts, experiencing both winning and losing streaks throughout his career. Despite setbacks, he has persevered and currently holds a four-fight winning streak, with three wins by knockout without going to the third round. With 16 fights under his belt, El Dafrawy remains confident in his goal of becoming a world champion.
Prior to his PFL MENA debut on July 12 against Anthony Zeidam, El Dafrawy spoke to the media about his determination to succeed and prove his critics wrong. He acknowledges the pressure of being overlooked but finds freedom in exceeding expectations.
“I defied expectations after facing adversity in my career. I aim to showcase my true potential and earn respect with my current winning streak. Growing up, I was doubted by many, and that serves as my motivation to prove them all wrong.”
El Dafrawy’s Instagram bio declares him as the “new face of the fight game,” a title he plans to solidify through success in PFL MENA.
“Once I become a champion and the face of the fight game, I will remove ‘new’ from my bio. Until then, I remain focused on achieving my ultimate goal and proving my capabilities.”
While facing a tough opponent in Zeidam, El Dafrawy’s aspirations extend beyond his winning streak. He aims to represent Egypt as a world champion and establish himself as a prominent figure in mixed martial arts.
