Sheffield United have completed the signing of former Everton defender Annie Wilding on a free transfer.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blades this afternoon.
The 20-year-old joins Sheffield United after leaving former club Everton at the end of last season. The player came through the Merseyside club’s youth ranks and went on to make six appearances in all competitions at first team level.
Wilding now needs regular first team football if she is to kick on with her career and she will hope to play an important role for new club Sheffield United this season.
After sealing her move to Bramall Lane, Wilding said “I’m delighted to be joining Sheffield United and excited for the challenge ahead. I feel like I’m at the point in my career where I need a new challenge, to go to a new team and be able to play in different systems, learn a new philosophy and grow as a player and a person.”
Wilding is Sheffield United’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window. The youngster could make her debut for The Blades when they travel to Maiden Castle to face Durham on Sunday.
