Sheffield United have completed the signing of former Leicester City midfielder Monique Robinson on a free transfer.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blades this evening.
Robinson joins Sheffield United after leaving former club Leicester City at the end of last season. The 19-year-old successfully graduated from The Foxes’ youth system to go on and feature for the first team. Robinson made 11 appearances for Leicester City in all competitions while she spent the second half of this season with third tier club Burnley on a dual-registration basis.
The teenager spent some of her youth at Sheffield United prior to her move to Leicester City. Robinson will now get the opportunity to play senior football with The Blades this season.
After rejoining Sheffield United, Robinson said “I’m really excited. I was here in the academy and I’m excited to be back.
“Getting the experience in tier three has really helped me with senior football and I’m ready to take that next step.”
Robinson becomes Sheffield United’s second signing of the summer transfer window. The Blades have also signed former Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Sian Rogers so far this summer. Further squad news will be announced by the club in due course.
