Slo-Mo Video of Sydney Colson’s Concerning Injury Leaves Fans in Disbelief originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Indiana Fever remained shorthanded as they wrapped up their road trip, playing their ninth straight game without Caitlin Clark, who is sidelined with a groin injury. On Thursday, they visited DeWanna Bonner and the Phoenix Mercury, aiming to avoid a two-game skid.

Clark has now missed 18 games this season, more than half of Indiana’s schedule, and the Fever could be down another point guard after Sydney Colson left with an injury.
Sydney Colson Leaves Fever-Mercury With Injury
With less than a minute remaining in the first quarter of Thursday’s game, Colson was attempting to grab a rebound off a missed 3-pointer from Lexie Hull. As she grabbed the ball near the corner of the 3-point line, Colson’s knee buckled awkwardly, and she went down in some serious pain.

Indiana was forced to call a timeout after the ball eventually went out of bounds and Colson’s teammates were right there to support her. Colson stayed on the court for a few minutes before being helped by the trainers to the locker room. She was ruled out for the rest of the game.
A slow-motion video of Colson’s leg injury has emerged online, and some are now left even more concerned for the point guard.

“no no no no no no,” posted a fourth.
“This makes me so sad man, I hope it’s not as bad as it looks,” added a fifth.
“Noooo not my Syd,” said a sixth.
What Does Colson’s Injury Mean for Fever?
While the severity of Colson’s injury is unclear at the time of this article, it seems as though the non-contact injury could be significant. If Colson were forced to miss time, this would leave the Fever with one true point guard, Aari McDonald, barring Clark’s return.

If both Clark and Colson are ruled out going forward, Indiana may be forced to bring in another point guard, which could happen via emergency hardship contract. This would allow a player to join the team for seven days.
