Stephen Curry has the opportunity to sign a one-year, $62.6 million contract extension with the Golden State Warriors, adding to the $115.3 million remaining on his current contract for the next two seasons. After returning from Paris with his first gold medal, Curry plans to be away for a few weeks, delaying any discussions about the extension for now.
Curry will decide when discussions on the deal will take place, with a deadline of October 21st for reaching an agreement before talks can resume after the season.
The Warriors have stated both privately and publicly that they are willing to offer Curry the $62.6 million extension if he chooses to accept it. This extension would see Curry playing in his age-38 season.
If Curry delays signing the extension, it could put additional pressure on the Warriors to enhance their roster. Jeff Austin represents Curry in contract negotiations.
Curry has previously signed extensions with the Warriors in 2012 and 2021, as well as a free agent deal in 2017.
