Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated that left-hander Nestor Cortes may have a chance of making the World Series roster. On the Dodgers side, president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman mentioned that both righty Brusdar Graterol and lefty Alex Vesia could be added to the roster for the series.
Cortes has been dealing with a flexor strain in his elbow and has been out of action for about a month. He has been throwing bullpen sessions recently and could provide relief for the Yankees in the World Series.
Tim Hill and Tim Mayza have been the primary left-handed relief options for the Yankees, with Hill showcasing a strong ground ball rate and Mayza having limited postseason appearances so far.
Vesia has a solid track record with the Dodgers, but has been dealing with an oblique/intercostal injury. Graterol has had a challenging 2024 season with multiple injuries, but could still be a valuable addition to the Dodgers bullpen if he can stay healthy.
