Warriors Provide Latest Update on Stephen Curry Injury

The Golden State Warriors are still waiting on the return of their franchise cornerstone. Stephen Curry remains sidelined with a right knee injury, and the team confirmed Wednesday that the veteran guard will be reevaluated again in about 10 days as he continues his recovery.

Curry was recently checked by medical staff for patella-femoral pain syndrome and bone bruising in the injured knee, according to the Warriors. The team said the four-time NBA champion continues to progress through rehabilitation.

Golden State added that Curry is “making good progress” and has already resumed individual on-court workouts. Those sessions are expected to increase in intensity in the coming days as he continues recovering.

For now, however, the Warriors will remain without their leader.

Curry suffered the injury on Jan. 30 during a game against the Detroit Pistons and has missed the 15 games that followed.

The absence has been felt immediately.

Golden State has dropped three straight contests and has gone just 5-10 overall since Curry went down. During that stretch, the offense has struggled badly, ranking 21st in offensive rating while producing 111.7 points per 100 possessions.

The Warriors currently sit 32–33, placing them 9th in the Western Conference standings.

While that keeps them within the Play-In Tournament picture, the margin for error continues shrinking as the regular season winds down.

Golden State has 17 games remaining on the schedule, meaning Curry’s timeline could prove crucial in determining whether the team can stabilize its season.

The injury also adds to what has already been a difficult year for the franchise. The Warriors have been without forward Jimmy Butler since Jan. 19 after he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Meanwhile, offseason acquisition Kristaps Porziņģis has appeared in only three games since joining the team.

The team’s chances of making any serious push, either in the play-in or the playoffs, likely depend on Curry returning to full health.
