The Golden State Warriors have made a big move early on in the 24-25 season by acquiring Dennis Schroder, and they are looking to stay aggressive leading up to the trade deadline. In the past year, the Warriors have actively pursued trades for top players like LeBron James, Lauri Markkanen, Paul George, and Jimmy Butler.
“We’re constantly on the lookout for opportunities,” said Mike Dunleavy during a conference call discussing the Schroder trade. “We have to weigh the pros and cons of each move, but ultimately, if it helps improve the team, we’re all for it.
“We’re focused on maximizing our current window of opportunity with Steph, Draymond, and Coach Steve Kerr. We wasted no time in making moves to strengthen the team as soon as trading was allowed… I am confident in our team, especially on defense, and now with a player like Schroder, we hope to boost our offensive capabilities. We will continue to assess and explore possibilities.”
The Warriors had a gap to fill in the backcourt due to De’Anthony Melton’s season-ending injury.
