Position Overview:Wingate University, an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the South Atlantic Conference, is seeking a qualified applicant for a Graduate Assistant position for the Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs. This is a two-year appointment starting in Fall 2025, designedfor individuals pursuing a master’s degree while gaining hands-on coaching experience in a competitive collegiate athletics environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist head coaches in all aspects of daily operations, including practices, travel coordination, match preparation, and recruiting.
Support student-athlete development both on and off the court.
Help manage match day logistics and video analysis.
Coordinate with academic support staff to monitor student-athlete progress.
Maintain compliance with Wingate University, NCAA, and SAC policies.
Other duties as assigned by the coaching staff or athletic administration.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; acceptance into a Wingate University graduate program is required for employment.
Collegiate playing experience (preferably NCAA) strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to balance academic and athletic responsibilities effectively.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
Compensation:
Tuition remission for a master’s program at Wingate University.
Monthly stipend.
Some meals and housing assistance may be included.
