HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bengals and the Hawks competed fiercely as the first half of play began. Both teams would put pressure on each other defenses, with the Hawks controlling most of the play. As the first half closed, both teams would remain tied, in search for the game-breaking goal.
Early second half play would favor the Bengals, as in the 53rd minute, Kilmer was able to get behind the Hawks defense and put the Bengals up, with full momentum. However, the Hawks would answer back, tying the game in the 56th minute…and wouldn’t look back.
The Hawks would go on and score in the 74th minute, with the final blow coming in the 78th minute, taming the Bengals and leaving Coyer Field victories in this battle. Not all things look bleak for the Bengals though, with two games remaining, the Bengals hold a firm top four seed in the SUNYAC.
The Bengals were outshot in this battle, 18 to 5, with only two shots on goal to the Hawks 10.
FOR THE FOES
