Unrivaled: Who’s in, who’s out, what’s new and more for the 3×3 league

Unrivaled is going to be bigger in Season 2, and we bet it’s also going to be even better.

The 3×3 league has expanded to six teams, with Breeze BC and Hive BC joining Rose BC, Lunar Owls BC, Vinyl BC, Laces BC and Phantom BC, and now will feature 48 players, up from last year’s 36 players. Unrivaled also will venture outside their Miami home for the first time, holding two games in Philadelphia on January 30.

Last week, Unrivaled announced the league’s final three players, headlined by Dominique Malonga, who recently terminated her contract with EuroLeague Women-power Fenerbahçe (a decision that could jeopardize her ability to participate in the 2026 WNBA season, but will not effect her eligibility for Unrivaled). Rebecca Allen, Malonga’s brief Fenerbahçe teammate, and Aari McDonald round out Unrivaled’s 48-player roster, while DiJonai Carrington, previously named as a returning player, will not take part in the second season due the foot injury she suffered in the WNBA playoffs.

Here are all 48 participating players, listed in order of announcement by Unrivaled. Returning players’ 2025 clubs also are listed in parentheses.

Club rosters for the 2026 season will be revealed November 5 at 7 p.m. ET in the Bleacher Report App and on Bleacher Report’s YouTube channel.

Players who competed in the first season of Unrivaled but will not be returning for Season 2 are: Angel Reese (Rose), Sabrina Ionescu (Phantom), Jewell Loyd (Mist), Stefanie Dolson (Laces), Kayla McBride (Laces), Tiffany Hayes (Laces), Courtney Vandersloot (Mist) and Katie Lou Samuelson (Phantom), plus relief players NaLyssa Smith, Ariel Atkins, Betnijah Laney-Hamilton and Kiki Jefferson. Both McBride and Hayes are competing in EuroLeague Women for Fenerbahçe and ÇBK Mersin, respectively. Torn ACLs will keep Vandersloot and Samuelson sidelined.

After revealing the initial 46 players, the league announced that contract negotiations were continuing with some yet-unsigned players, which might have included Reese and Ionescu, as well as Malonga.

Last year, Ionescu was the last player signed; she subsequently missed a handful of games for Phantom because of previously agreed to obligations. Like Ionescu, Reese has amassed an ever-expanding portfolio of sponsorships and other ventures, including becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel. While Reese hasn’t commented on her decision, it is understandable if her budding off-the-court empire led her to determine that it would best not to rejoin Rose and Unrivaled.

Unrivaled also confirmed the head coaches for Season 2, with Rose’s Nola Henry, Vinyl’s Teresa Weatherspoon, Lunar Owls’ DJ Sackmann and Laces’ Andrew Wade returning to their posts. Zack O’Brien, a longtime assistant coach to Sandy Brondello with the New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury, will take over Mist, with Roneeka Hodges, who also was an assistant coach with the Liberty before joining the Connecticut Sun staff, taking charge of Phantom. Former Seattle Storm head coach Noelle Quinn will be the first head coach of Breeze and Rena Wakama, an assistant with the Chicago Sky who also is the head coach of the Nigerian Women’s National Team, will be Hive’s first head coach.

Last season, Rose captured the first Unrivaled championship, defeating Vinyl in the final behind an MVP effort from Chelsea Gray. Gray was a member of First-Team All-Unrivaled, along with Napheesa Collier, the regular-season MVP from the Lunar Owls, and McBride, who played for Laces. Reese, Lunar Owls’ Skylar Diggins and Vinyl’s Rhyne Howard were named Second-Team All-Unrivaled. Reese also was the inaugural Defensive Player of the Year.
