Bam vs Cafu Results:
Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez (22‑0, 15 KOs) unified the WBC and WBO Super-Flyweight titles with a powerful 10th-round stoppage of Phumelele Cafu (11‑1‑3, 8 KOs).
Rodriguez, a pre-fight favourite, showed patience early on, using his sharp jab and footwork to wear down the resilient South African champion.
By the mid rounds, Rodriguez began targeting the body, with a wicked left hook slowing Cafu’s movement. A
clean left uppercut in Round 8 visibly shook the WBO titleholder. The pressure continued into round ten, when relentless pressure saw the towel come in.
Rodriguez adds Cafu’s WBO belt to his WBC crown, cementing himself as the division’s unified star.
Diego Pacheco dominated and defeated Trevor McCumby without ever being in danger of losing. McCumby tested Pacheco’s resolve at times, but was unable to pick up many points over the duration.
The performance will further elevate Pacheco’s status as one of the emerging forces in the 168-pound division. Scores read 120–108 and 119–109 twice after twelve rounds.
Early Action
Austin Williams, initially scheduled for an IBF eliminator against Etinosa Oliha, adapted to a late-notice opponent in Vazquez and rose to the challenge.
“Ammo” methodically broke down Vazquez with crisp combinations. Williams shifted gears late on and got the stoppage in the ninth. He’s now 19-1 after a 13th KO.
Rising American prospect Omari Jones (3–0, 3 KOs) secured another statement win, halting Argentine veteran Alfredo Rodolfo Blanco (25–14, 11 KOs) dominantly.
Preliminary action saw Pablo Valdez score a third-round knockout of Robert Redmond Jr. Valdez moved to 10-0
Nishant Dev defeated LaQuan Evans via TKO victory in Round six. Meanwhile, Hector Beltran Jr stops Edgar Gutierrez in the third session of a scheduled four-rounder.
